BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH
Ron Hook has earned a reputation for quality on-site management of major commercial, multifamily residential, industrial, and scientific applications. After beginning his career as a journeyman carpenter, Mr. Hook rapidly moved into a variety of increasingly responsible roles including those of estimator, sales representative, and purchasing agent. His move into supervisory roles was facilitated by the increased demand for on-site project management following a major earthquake in the Los Angeles area, and Mr. Hook quickly became known for his ability to bring complex projects to completion on time and within budget.
In 1998, Mr. Hook joined The Carlson Group, a design-build firm that specialized in critical environment construction for such organizations in such industries as banking, investment management, customer service, and research. He has a clear and consistent record of adding value to major projects while maintaining strong relationships with owners and designers.
Most recently, Mr. Hook has led the retrofit of two historical buildings in Los Angeles, the 89-year-old Roosevelt Building downtown. Originally one of the area’s first high-rise office building, the structure now houses 222 condominiums, including 36 two-story units, a rooftop pool, and 147,000sf of retail space. The retrofit required extensive interior demolition and structural modifications to support additional features and comply with earthquake resistance standards. A similar project was the complete retrofit of the 12-story Broadway & Hollywood, the area’s first department store. Over the years, Mr. Hook has managed projects for such premier organizations as Bank of America, Charles Schwab, and Westcliff Medical Laboratories.
Whatever the construction project, owners and designers can be assured of quality and timely completion on a cost-effective basis with Mr. Hook at the helm on site.
